وكانت الناشطة / علياء الوزير قد تعرضت للاعتداء خلال اعتصام نسائي أقيم صباح يوم عيد الأضحى – الجمعة 27 نوفمبر 2009م – أمام جامع الصالح في العاصمة صنعاء، حيث تعرضت للضرب والاعتداء المباشر من قبل قوات الأمن النسائية بشكل عنيف مما أدى لإصابتها بجروح وكدمات مختلفة.

وعليه يطالب المركز اليمني لحقوق الإنسان النائب العام ورئيس المحكمة الجزائية المتخصصة بالتوجيه بمسائلة المسئولين عن هذه الانتهاكات والمخالفات القانونية ،  وايقاف الاستهداف الذي تتعرض له الناشطة علياء الوزير والسماح لها ولغيرها حضور جلسات المحاكمة، كون ذلك حق ثابت في القانون .
